Key Responsibilities

As the Journeyman Plumber, you will support the successful installation, maintenance, and commissioning of piping systems and mechanical infrastructure on municipal and industrial construction projects.

Process Piping & Mechanical Installation

• Install and assist in maintaining piping systems used in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Complete pipe fitting activities such as layout, cutting, threading, grooving, and assembly to ensure accurate and efficient installations.
• Install pumps, valves, tanks, and mechanical equipment while ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

Project Execution & Technical Support

• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work plans to support efficient project delivery and accurate installations.
• Assist with pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning tasks to ensure systems are operating safely and effectively.
• Troubleshoot installation challenges on-site and collaborate with project teams to maintain schedules and productivity.

Safety & Site Operations

• Follow all company safety procedures, site-specific requirements, and industry best practices to maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure a clean work area to support operational efficiency and quality.
• Travel and work on remote job sites as required, supporting project timelines and client expectations.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with project managers, supervisors, apprentices to ensure projects are completed successfully.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by sharing field knowledge and supporting efficient work practices.

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Journeyman Plumbing certification is required.
• Safety tickets CSTS is required.
• Experience working in industrial, process mechanical, municipal, or water/wastewater construction environments is considered an asset.
• Ability to work out of town on a 5&2 and 10&4 rotational schedule.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Safety certifications such as a First Aid Certification and Confined Space Training are considered assets.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of piping systems, plumbing installations, and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Familiarity with pressure testing, commissioning procedures, and industrial construction practices is an asset.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in fast-paced construction environments.
• Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented approach to daily work activities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a willingness to support apprentices and collaborate across crews.
• Ability to adapt to changing project demands and work effectively in various weather conditions.
