Description
Midtown Athletic Club is searching for a dynamic, high-energy Arena Instructor to join our world-class fitness team. We aren't looking for someone who simply leads a workout, we're looking for a coach, motivator, entertainer, and community-builder who can command a room and inspire members to push beyond their limits.
Arena is one of Midtown's most challenging and rewarding studio experiences—a 45-minute, high-intensity workout that combines treadmill intervals, strength training, and performance coaching in an immersive boutique fitness environment.
As a private club with six boutique studios, Midtown offers instructors the opportunity to grow their careers, expand their skill sets, and become part of a premier fitness community.
What You'll Do
As an Arena Instructor, you'll bring the studio to life through your personality, coaching style, and ability to connect with members.
You'll:
Lead high-energy, results-driven Arena classes that challenge and inspire.
Coach members through treadmill and strength-training intervals with confidence and expertise.
Create an immersive experience through music, movement, motivation, and performance.
Develop your own playlists and use musicality to elevate the energy of the room.
Educate members on proper form, performance, and training techniques.
Motivate participants of all fitness levels to achieve more than they thought possible.
Build relationships and foster a loyal community that creates a "yearn to return" culture.
Deliver a consistent, safe, and exceptional member experience.
Who You Are
You're the instructor people remember.
You bring:
- Strong stage presence and confidence leading a room.
- High energy, charisma, and the ability to connect with members.
- A passion for coaching, fitness, and helping others succeed.
- Exceptional communication and motivational skills.
- A love for music and creating engaging workout experiences.
- The ability to be equal parts cheerleader, educator, and coach.
- Professionalism, reliability, and a growth mindset.
- Flexibility to teach mornings, evenings, weekends, and special events.
Ideal Experience
We're especially interested in candidates with experience coaching in boutique fitness environments such as:
- HIIT-based group training concepts
- Athletic performance training
- Functional strength and conditioning programs
Experience coaching both cardio and strength-based formats is highly preferred.
Qualifications
- Current nationally recognized Group Fitness Instructor or Personal Training Certification.
- CPR/AED Certification (or ability to obtain before hire).
- Previous group fitness coaching experience preferred.
- Ability to coach large groups while maintaining safety, energy, and engagement.
Why Midtown?
At Midtown, you'll do more than teach classes—you'll build a career. With six boutique studio concepts, ongoing education, coaching development, and opportunities to expand your teaching portfolio, you'll be supported every step of the way.
If you're a passionate coach with the personality to light up a room, the ability to motivate members through their toughest workouts, and the desire to create unforgettable fitness experiences, we want to hear from you.
