Description
Our client, a well-established and growing leader in environmental remediation and hazardous materials management, is seeking a Full-Time General Manager to join their dynamic leadership team. Known for delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality environmental solutions, the organization has built a strong reputation across commercial, institutional, and residential sectors through technical expertise, operational excellence, and a commitment to safety.
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business, including operations, project execution, business development, team leadership, financial performance, client relationships, and regulatory compliance. This individual will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the business by driving revenue, developing client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and supporting strategic growth initiatives.
- Oversee day-to-day operations including environmental remediation, hazardous materials, asbestos abatement, and demolition projects, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Manage and develop teams through recruiting, training, coaching, performance management, and workforce planning while fostering a culture of accountability and safety.
- Ensure compliance and operational excellence by maintaining adherence to health and safety regulations, quality standards, permitting requirements, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of leadership experience within construction, environmental services, hazardous materials remediation, asbestos abatement, demolition, or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of building codes, construction practices, workplace safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to lead field personnel, supervisors, subcontractors, and construction crews.
- Experience managing projects, schedules, budgets, and customer relationships.
- Strong business development and account management skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Solid understanding of construction equipment, operations, and maintenance.
- Type 3 Asbestos Certification (MTCU 253W and 253S) is required or the ability to maintain certification.
