Role & work environment

Within ‘Finance’, the Finance Advice Cost team is the cornerstone for financial insights and gives advice to the full organization with a specific focus on cost control, actuals reporting and forecasting/budgeting.

As a Finance Advisor, you are expected to engage regularly with department heads and/or Business Managers, providing financial advice and additional insights across all expense categories.

A day in the life of a Finance Advisor

As Finance Advisor for Cost you will:

  • Take ownership of one domain of the bank with regard to cost control activities,
  • deliver a reliable financial reporting and thoroughly analyse the monthly financial results,
  • participate in the periodically forecast and budget process to embed strategic decisions into short- and long-term cost projections for your respective business,
  • interact with the department and senior management on a regular basis,
  • analyze the trends and bring advice to management,
  • be involved in other important processes like the cost allocation to products and segments,
  • be eager to look for possible efficiencies in our processes and to improve them, notably by leveraging AI solutions.

  • A degree in economics, finance or equivalent
  • An analytical mind and intellectual curiosity that you combine with a sincere interest in banking and market development
  • A proactive and autonomous attitude that translates into flexibility when deadlines are due
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a (business) control or management accounting position is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English
  • Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Experience in translating data analysis into sound advice that you’ll be able to combine with providing independent strategic advice to senior management.
