Position Overview:
The Test Automation Expert is responsible for designing, implementing, and operating a
scalable test automation capability for enterprise systems, with a strong focus on SAP
S/4HANA. The role ensures stable releases, reduced regression risk, and faster delivery
through automated testing across SAP and integrated non-SAP systems. The position plays a
critical role in SAP upgrades, S/4HANA enhancements, transports, and future transformation
initiatives by embedding quality and automation into the delivery lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include:
• Design and maintain end-to-end automated test coverage for SAP S/4HANA business
processes (e.g. Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Finance Close)
• Establish and operate automated regression testing aligned with SAP transports,
support packs, and quarterly upgrades
• Implement and maintain SAP test automation tools (e.g. Tricentis Tosca, SAP Test
Automation Tool, or equivalent)
• Integrate test automation with SAP Cloud ALM / SAP Solution Manager and CI/CD
pipelines where applicable
• Define automation strategy including what to automate vs. test manually, based on
risk and business criticality
• Ensure test data preparation, management, and stability for repeatable SAP test
execution
• Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and collaborate with
development and functional teams for resolution
• Provide guidance and coaching to internal teams on SAP test automation best
practices
• Reduce dependency on manual testing and external vendors through capability
transfer and standardization
Mandatory Requirements:
Education:
✓ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience/Skill:
✓ 5+ years of experience in test automation or quality engineering in enterprise IT
environments
✓ Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA testing (GUI and/or Fiori)
✓ Practical experience with SAP-focused automation tools (e.g. Tricentis Tosca, SAP Test
Automation Tool, Worksoft, or similar)
✓ Strong understanding of SAP business processes and cross-module integration impacts
✓ Experience designing and operating regression testing frameworks
✓ Familiarity with test lifecycle management in SAP Cloud ALM or SAP Solution Manager

Preferred / Nice-to-have Requirements:
✓ Experience supporting SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration or major SAP transformation
programs
✓ Knowledge of API and integration testing for SAP interfaces (IDoc, CPI, APIs)
✓ Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, Azure DevOps) in enterprise environments
✓ Exposure to AI-assisted or risk-based SAP testing approaches
✓ Background in large-scale manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG SAP landscapes
