Description
Residential Practitioner – Children's Home
📍 Locations: Pontefract (WF11) or Halifax
💷 Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 per annum + sleep-in payments
🕒 Hours: Average 48 hours per week (including sleep-ins)
🌙 Sleep-ins: 2 per week
🏡 Service: Residential Children's Home
👧 Supporting: Children and young people aged 7–17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Mild Learning Difficulties

What You'll Be Doing

Providing day-to-day care and emotional support

Building positive, trusting relationships with young people

Supporting education, activities and life skills

Promoting positive behaviour using therapeutic approaches

Completing daily records and safeguarding documentation

Working closely with families and professionals to achieve the best outcomes
Pay & Working Pattern

Salary: £26,000 per annum (excluding sleep-in payments)
-
48-hour average working week

2 sleep-ins per week

What You'll Need
Essential
-
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or
-
Level 3 Children & Young People's Workforce Diploma (Social Care pathway)
A Level 3 Diploma in Adult Social Care may be considered where substantial experience supporting children and young people can be demonstrated.

Full UK driving licence
-
Ideally aged 22 or over (due to the nature of the role and insurance requirements)
-
Previous experience working with children and young people, ideally within residential childcare or a similar setting supporting children with challenging behaviours
