Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Deputy Officer in Charge, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £18.35 - £24.06 per hour

Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Officer in Charge to join a new Children's Residential Home in Cardiff. This rewarding role involves supporting the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality care and ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people in a safe, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day management and administration of the Children's Home.
  • Ensure children and young people receive high-quality, person-centred care that meets their emotional, physical, educational, cultural, and health needs.
  • Promote independence, participation, and positive outcomes for young people.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with families, professionals, and the local community.
  • Supervise, support, and develop the residential care team.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent qualification meeting Social Care Wales registration requirements.
  • Knowledge of The Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 and relevant childcare legislation.

Essentials:

  • Proven experience in a senior role within a Children's Residential Care setting.
  • Experience managing or supervising staff within a residential childcare environment.
  • Experience working with behaviour support models of care.
  • Ability to complete assessments, prepare reports, and chair professional meetings.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child development.
