The role will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing opportunities to source new materials to drive growth, sustainability, and profitability of the business. The role will work closely with internal teams to explore new market opportunities for cementitious, raw & alternative fuel materials and ensure that all steps align with company objectives for sustainable growth.
Responsibilities / Përgjegjësitë
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify potential alternative raw materials and fuel sources.
- Manage and report on quality standards for alternative fuels and actively engage with local municipalities and recyclers to maintain supply and compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on local industry trends, regulatory requirements, and advances in green and alternative materials for cement production.
- Build and manage relationships with suppliers, waste management companies, and recycling facilities to secure reliable sources of alternative fuels and materials.
- Negotiate terms with potential suppliers and partners to ensure cost-effective and sustainable supply chains.
- Establish strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, to support access to alternative resources.
- Ensure all alternative raw materials and fuels comply with regulatory requirements, sustainability standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with the Sustainability, R&D, Health & Safety and Legal teams to assess environmental impact and contribute to corporate sustainability initiatives.
- Prepare documentation and reports on the environmental and financial impact of alternative sourcing initiatives for executive review.
- Work closely with the Production, Quality, and in general Plant management teams for new project and to test and integrate alternative materials and fuels into cement production processes.
- Collaborate with Corporate teams and respective organizations and structures in other Business Units to transfer already established systems, processes, and best practices.
- Collaborate with Procurement to establish sourcing strategies that align with operational and cost objectives.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and risk assessments for all business development projects related to alternative materials.
- Regularly update the General Manager on market insights, progress in sourcing alternative materials, and any risks or challenges in implementation.
- Work closely with the Plant Manager, when necessary, to update on alternative materials integration process.
- Contribute to high-level strategic discussions on sustainable growth, offering insights that support long-term cost savings and environmental goals.
Qualifications / Kualifikimet
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred)
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in business development, procurement, sales or sustainability, preferably within the industrial sector.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of alternative materials and sustainability practices.
- Strategic thinker capable of working independently with executive-level oversight.
- Strong communicator with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Advanced negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to build partnerships and navigate regulatory landscapes.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Excellent command of Albanian and English (written & oral)
Working Conditions:
- Primarily based at the administration office with frequent presence in operational areas.
