We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic educational team. Key Responsibilities

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of a high school diploma; associate's or bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEN students
• Strong understanding of various special educational needs and appropriate support strategies
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
• Proficiency in using assistive technology and adaptive equipment
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations and student needs
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational software
• First aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Detailed Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Teaching Assistant, your primary focus will be on providing direct support to students with special educational needs. This involves:

• Working one-on-one or in small groups with SEN students to reinforce learning concepts and provide additional explanation or practice
• Implementing specific strategies outlined in students' IEPs, such as using visual aids, breaking tasks into smaller steps, or providing sensory breaks
• Assisting students with physical tasks or personal care when necessary, always maintaining their dignity and promoting independence
• Supporting students in developing social skills, managing emotions, and navigating peer relationships
• Providing encouragement and positive reinforcement to boost students' confidence and motivation
