We are currently recruiting for a Marketing and Business Development Coordinator (one-year contract) to join Hogan Lovells Cadwalader in Shanghai. The successful candidate will provide administrative and tactical support across a broad range of marketing and business development initiatives for the Shanghai office and the wider China Practice.
Working closely with the M&BD team members across Shanghai and Greater China, as well as regional and global practice groups, this role offers broad exposure to business development and marketing initiatives within a global professional services environment, with a particular focus on proposal development, marketing collateral creation and event management.
This role will report to (Senior) M&BD Manager based in Hong Kong, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with the local, regional and global M&BD teams to support all aspects of the business development and marketing activities in China.
SCOPE OF THE WORK
Business Proposals - Work closely with the partners and the M&BD team and to manage all aspects of the RFPs and proposal process including drafting credentials statements, preparing client proposals and presentations in Chinese and English.
Event Management - Coordinate and support a wide range of clients and firm events including seminars and conferences, panel discussions, speaking engagements, reception and networking events.
Legal Directory Submissions & Awards - Assist with the preparation and coordination of submissions, interviews and related materials for legal directories, industry awards and other external surveys.
Marketing Collateral – Maintain and update a full suite of marketing materials, including office and practice profiles, lawyers' profiles, experience lists and other client-facing collateral.
External Communications - Support the regional M&BD team to coordinate public relations opportunities, including article placement and coordinating media interviews.
Knowledge and Data Management – Maintain key business development systems and databases, ensuring the credentials representative experience, lawyers bios and client relationship information kept up-to-date. Prior knowledge of using Foundation and InterAction is plus but not necessary.
Client Development - Support the implementation of the regional client development programmes and client relationship initiative.
Digital Marketing – Work with colleagues across China to maintain web content and support the management of the firm’s WeChat official account and other digital marketing activities.
Research & Special Projects - Assist with special projects and undertake client, industry, competitor and market research as required.
Administration Support - Provide general administrative to the M&BD team and assist with arrangements for visiting partners and other BD activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in business administration, marketing or law.
A minimum of 2 years' experience in business development and marketing, preferably in a professional services environment.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationship across all levels of the firm.
Highly organised, with excellent project management and coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Attention to detail, including strong drafting and proofreading skills.
Ability to perform under pressure, both independently and as part of a wider regional and global team.
Consistent positive attitude with a "can do" mentality.
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to changing priorities and fluctuating workloads.
Demonstrated professionalism, discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
Advanced PC skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and ability to learn new IT skills such as InterAction and other database systems.
Spoken English/Mandarin and written English/Chinese are essential.
