Willow Academy is looking for a compassionate, part-time, School Nurse to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive health care and emergency support to K-12 students, ensuring their safety, well-being, and health needs are met with professionalism and warmth. Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine health assessments and screenings including vital signs, scoliosis, vision, hearing, height and weight, and/or other conditions and physical examinations, to monitor children’s health status and provide appropriate referrals.
- Administer medications, injections, and first aid in accordance with medical protocols and school policies.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies using CPR, AED operation, and emergency response procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including immunizations, allergies, accident reports, and treatment plans within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Communicate effectively and provide ongoing updates to parents regarding health concerns, medication schedules, and injury reports.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and nursing policies while maintaining patient confidentiality under FERPA/HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop individualized health plans for children with special needs or chronic conditions.
- Work to remove, modify or reduce health-related barriers to learning.
- Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Service Provider License - School Nurse.
- Current license as a registered nurse with the State of Colorado.
- BLS CPR Certification is required.
- 2+ years of school nursing experience is highly preferred.
- National School Nurse Certification is highly desired but not required.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
- Ability to accurately record, transfer, and present information in an organized manner.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Works collaboratively with others on a team.
- Ability to remain calm in an emergency situation.
- Knowledge of District, county, and state health regulations.
- Ability to meet District standards for physical and mental health.
- Demonstrates respect for children, teenagers, and adults with different systems and beliefs.
- Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high-quality education.
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.

Job Type: Part-Time
Pay: $30-$45 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 20-25 hours per week (Between the hours of 8-4:30pm)
