Description

The CRC Lead is responsible for mentoring and leading a team of employees to safely produce high-quality components while meeting customer commitments and operational objectives. This role provides leadership in workflow coordination, quality assurance, and team development while ensuring all work is performed in accordance with Wheeler Machinery and Caterpillar safety standards. The CRC Lead serves as a key resource within the shop and will support supervisor responsibilities during absences.


Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and lead a culture of safety by ensuring all employees follow company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop employees to improve technical skills, workmanship, and overall performance.
  • Coordinate workflow and prioritize jobs to ensure customer commitments and strict turnaround times are met.
  • Monitor job progress and proactively address obstacles that could impact quality, safety, or delivery schedules.
  • Inspect components and determine reusability according to established standards.
  • Perform quality checks throughout the assembly and rebuild process to ensure components meet company and Caterpillar specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding job status, timelines, estimates, and expectations.
  • Develop job quotes and support accurate service recommendations.
  • Collaborate with service, sales, and production teams to ensure efficient movement of jobs through the shop.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to maximize productivity and meet operational goals.
  • Lead by example through professional conduct, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Fill in for the supervisor as needed and support day-to-day operational decisions.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requited Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with Caterpillar powertrain components.
  • Strong working knowledge of CAT SIS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
