The Special Hazards Designer position requires office and field environments that support our different departments such as sales, project management and installations. They will be the point of contact for designing systems, providing submittal documents for approvals, and conducting training/guidance to the personnel as needed. An independent and results-oriented individual would be a great fit in this friendly organization.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Produce design drawings for all engineered fire systems.
Provide input for estimates of both design/build and pre-engineered fire systems.
Produce shop drawings and pertinent technical closing documents for final approval, correction and delivery to customers.
Coordinate communication between sales, project management, design and installation departments.
Supervise project database in order to reduce redundant files and save administrative time.
Provide guidance to installation personnel as needed to provide work of excellent quality on or ahead of schedule and on or under budget.
Education/Qualification:
NICET Certified in Special Hazards preferred
System Experience:
Aerosol, CO2, FK-5-1-12, FM-200, Foam, Inert Gas, Novec 1230
Amerex, Ansul, Fike, Kidde, PyroChem, Stat-X
Ansul, Kidde, Notifier, Potter, VESDA.
Additional Qualifications:
Strong written and oral communication
Trustworthy, proactive steward in pursuit of excellence
Clean driver’s record with a current, unrestricted driver’s license
Able to secure access to County, State and Federal installations.
Ability to pass drug screen and background and reference check.
Physical Requirements:
Proper hand and power tool operations and safety.
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is required to lift and/or move heavy objects. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.
Pay Range:
$25/hr - $40/hr + bonus opportunities (depending on experience)
