Job Description:

For students to be eligible for CSEP positions, they must be registered in a full-time program, be a domestic fee-paying student, and must be able to demonstrate a financial need by successfully applying for OSAP or out-of-province financial aid funding.
Part-Time Student Event & Facility Staff support the preparation and successful execution of events and facility rentals delivered through in-person formats on campus. This role serves as an on-site resource for clients, guests, and campus partners by providing exceptional customer service, assisting with event logistics, answering questions, and guiding individuals to appropriate campus resources and services.
The incumbent uses tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment when troubleshooting issues and ensuring the smooth operation of each event according to the details provided by the Manager. Responsibilities include supporting rentals of common spaces that are used for recreational or athletic activities, monitoring event spaces, and assisting with special events or unique space requests.
The incumbent will be expected to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends. The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a professional, positive, and customer-focused approach with event clients and attendees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicate with internal departments and external service providers as required to support event operations, resolve service issues, and ensure a positive client experience
Provide front-line assistance to event clients, guests, and attendees throughout events and rentals
Respond to questions and direct clients or visitors to appropriate campus resources, services, or departments.
Monitor event, gymnasium, and athletic rental spaces to ensure activities operate smoothly, comply with event requirements and campus regulations, and provide general supervision, including opening and closing procedures as required.
Assist with event setup verification and ensure spaces are safe, clean, and properly prepared for use.
Complete event checklists, incident reports, or other administrative documentation as required.
Provide support for evening, weekend, and after-hours events.
Represent the College in a professional and customer-focused manner while interacting with external clients and community partners.
Attending to various client needs as directed by the Manager.
Required Qualifications:
Completed up to high school or equivalent education.
Please note that you must meet the following criteria in order to apply for this position:
1. Must be in receipt of OSAP or out-of-province assistance during the current or prior academic year (for summer work terms)
2. Must be registered in a full-time program at Algonquin College
3. Must be a domestic student at Algonquin College
Anticipated Weekly Schedule:
Scheduling would include up to 24 hours a week. Evening and weekend availability is required.
This position concludes at the end of December 2026 with the possibility of extension.
*This position requires regular ON-SITE work at the Ottawa Campus.
