About the Enterprise Information Office

The Enterprise Information Office is responsible for establishing trusted, business-ready information across the enterprise. By defining governance, information architecture, semantic standards, and business ownership, the team enables high-quality data that powers operational excellence, analytics, AI, and enterprise decision-making.
Working across all business domains, the Enterprise Information Office provides the capabilities, standards, and governance required to ensure information is managed as a strategic enterprise asset.


About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Governance Expert to establish and mature enterprise-wide information governance capabilities. You will design and operationalize governance frameworks that enable trusted, consistent, and reusable information across the organization. Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, you will establish governance standards, ownership models, semantic consistency, and data quality practices that support analytics, AI, and enterprise decision-making.


Key Accountabilities

Enterprise Governance

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve the Enterprise Data Governance Framework, including governance policies, standards, processes, and operating models.

  • Develop governance KPIs, maturity assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Promote governance as an enterprise capability and drive organizational adoption.


Business Ownership & Stewardship

  • Establish enterprise Data Owner and Data Steward operating models.

  • Support business domains in implementing governance responsibilities and accountability.

  • Facilitate governance councils and resolve governance and ownership challenges.


Business Glossary & Semantic Governance

  • Develop and maintain enterprise Business Glossaries.

  • Standardize business terminology, KPI definitions, and business rules.

  • Drive semantic consistency across reporting, analytics, AI, and Data Products.


Metadata & Information Management

  • Define metadata management standards, taxonomy, classification, and documentation practices.

  • Lead adoption of enterprise data catalog capabilities.

  • Improve discoverability, transparency, and trust in enterprise information assets.


Data Quality & Information Lifecycle

  • Establish enterprise Data Quality governance standards.

  • Define Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and coordinate remediation initiatives.

  • Establish standards for information classification, retention, archival, and disposal.

Data Products & AI Enablement

  • Define governance standards for enterprise Data Products.

  • Support certification and lifecycle management of trusted information assets.

  • Ensure enterprise information is AI-ready through strong governance, metadata, and semantic standards.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

  • Facilitate governance workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions.

  • Develop governance playbooks, communication material, and training programs.

  • Drive governance adoption and improve data literacy.


Compliance & Risk

  • Support governance activities related to privacy, security, regulatory compliance, and audits.

  • Ensure governance controls are documented, measurable, and continuously improved.


What We're Looking For

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Professional certifications such as DAMA CDMP, DCAM, Microsoft Purview, Collibra, SAP BDC governance or equivalent are desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Data Governance, Enterprise Information Management, Metadata Management, Information Architecture, or Enterprise Data Management.

  • Experience implementing enterprise Data Governance frameworks and governance operating models.

  • Strong understanding of metadata management, business glossaries, semantic models, enterprise data catalogs, and data quality.

  • Experience supporting enterprise analytics, digital transformation, and AI initiatives.

  • Experience facilitating governance workshops and stakeholder engagement in global organizations.


Technical & Business Expertise

  • Strong understanding of Enterprise Data Governance, Metadata Management, Business Glossaries, Data Quality, Master Data Management (MDM), Semantic Models, Data Products, and Information Lifecycle Management.

  • Good understanding of SAP HANA, SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), relational databases, and modern cloud data platforms.

  • Experience with SQL technologies including SAP HANA SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle SQL, or equivalent.

  • Understanding of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Power BI, Spotfire, or similar BI platforms.

  • Familiarity with enterprise data warehouses, semantic layers, and cloud analytics platforms.

  • Understanding of AI data foundations and governance required for responsible AI.

  • Strong affinity for understanding end-to-end business processes across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales, HR, and other enterprise domains.

  • Ability to bridge business and technology by collaborating with business stakeholders, architects, application teams, and data engineering teams.
