DEPARTMENT: Dual Enrollment

GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

The PATH (Pathways to Advancement Through Hinds) Coordinator will serve as the navigator for the special population dual enrolled students on one of the College campuses that hosts the PATH program. This individual will ensure these students are academically supported, properly advised, and successfully completing their programs of study leading to credentials, certificates, or associate degrees.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree is required for the position of PATH Coordinator. Preferred areas of study include business administration, management, public administration, organizational leadership, education, or a closely related field. Coursework or academic emphasis in areas such as project management, communications, or higher education administration is highly desirable.

Applicants with a combination of relevant education and professional experience in program coordination, academic support services, or administrative operations within an educational or workforce development environment may also be considered. A master’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Implementation & Coordination
  • Assist in implementing the PATH initiative
  • Serve as the on-site contact for students, parents, counselors, and instructors.
  • Coordinate student schedules, admissions, and enrollment in collaboration with district and college partners.
  • Monitor student eligibility, placement, and progress to ensure program compliance.

Student Support & Retention

  • Monitor attendance, grades, and course engagement to identify at-risk students.
  • Develop personalized academic and success plans for students requiring additional support.
  • Organize workshops and orientations covering topics such as time management, college
  • expectations, and academic integrity.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with high school counselors, instructors, and administrators to ensure alignment with high school graduation requirements and college pathways.
  • Serve as liaison to faculty teaching dual enrollment courses, assisting with roster management, attendance, and reporting.
