As the Infection Preventionist, you serve as the expert infection prevention and control (IPC) resource and provide mentorship, information, education, guidance, and support to ProMedica to promote safety and reduce costs associated with hospital-acquired infections (HAI).
You are responsible for accurate review and submission of HAI data and cost-effective prevention and management of IPC-associated risks within the organization.

REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related field.
- Skills: Must be able to enter and retrieve data from a computer, have expertise in data collection and analysis, report writing, and data presentation. Must be able to communicate well with all levels of employees and to organize and implement educational and process improvement activities. Must be knowledgeable in IPC principles and actively engaged in continual learning on principles (e.g., epidemiological principles, sterile processing, high-level disinfection, precautions, safe injection practices, etc.)
- Years of Experience: 2+ years nursing or related healthcare experience
- License: RN State of Ohio or Michigan if a nurse
- Certification: Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (e.g., CIC©) or attainment within 2 years after employment.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Education: MSN or Master’s Degree in Public Health Preferred
- Skills: Team oriented, process improvement experience.
- Years of Experience: 4+ years nursing or related field
- License: RN State of Ohio or Michigan if RN
- Certification: Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (e.g., CIC©).
