Description
At Freddie Mac, our mission of Making Home Possible is what motivates us, and it’s at the core of everything we do. Since our charter in 1970, we have made home possible for more than 90 million families across the country. Join an organization where your work contributes to a greater purpose.
Position Overview:
At Freddie Mac, you’ll do meaningful work that helps make home possible for millions of families. Join the Strategic Operations group within our Single-Family Seller Engagement team and help shape how leaders communicate business priorities across the division.
As a Business Communications and Executive Engagement Professional, you will turn complex strategies and business topics into clear, compelling messages that inform decisions, align teams, and inspire action. You will create executive-ready communications and presentations, support leadership engagements and high-profile events, and partner across the organization to deliver timely, audience-focused content. This is an opportunity to combine strong writing, sound judgment, creativity, and business acumen while gaining exposure to senior leaders and key Single-Family priorities.
If you are a collaborative communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys bringing clarity to complex work, we encourage you to apply.
Our Impact:
Our team is a group of experienced communicators that collaborate across Freddie Mac to ensure alignment with business priorities and deliver with excellence. We do this by:
- Developing and executing Single-Family’s business communications in a mission-driven, matrixed environment, including executive-ready materials that support day-to-day decision-making, divisional communications, leadership visibility, and high-priority events and engagements.
- Providing exposure to Single-Family priorities, products, and operating rhythms to develop credible, business-fluent communications that resonate with stakeholders.
- Fostering an inclusive environment that values partnership, curiosity, and continuous improvement—creating space to learn from leaders and peers while delivering high-quality work.
- Encouraging both tactical excellence and strategic judgment—balancing speed and accuracy while keeping communications aligned to business priorities and outcomes.
Your Impact:
In this role you will help Single-Family leaders communicate with purpose and precision, turning complex work into clear narratives, creating executive-ready materials, and keeping teams aligned to what matters most. You’ll support leadership visibility, strengthen internal alignment, and enable effective execution through consistent messages, timely updates, and practical communications support.
- Draft and refine tailored executive-ready communications and leader engagement materials for specific audiences and forums such as conferences, town halls, advisory boards, and internal/external engagements. These materials include talking points, briefs, remarks, Q&A, presentations, leader emails, bios, headshots, briefing materials, and readiness support.
- Maintain divisional message frameworks and scalable content (key themes, FAQs, leader narratives) to ensure consistency and speed across priority initiatives.
- Support planning, event logistics, content coordination, run-of-show materials, communications support, speaker readiness, and follow-up messaging for key divisional events.
- Plan and deliver core internal communications for Single-Family including newsletters, leader updates, meeting recaps, intranet posts, and event communications helping teams understand the “why,” “what,” and “what’s next,” enabling adoption across the division.
- Collaborate across Strategic Operations when division priorities require broader campaign support, ensuring executive content and timing aligns to business needs.
- Work cross-functionally (strategy, product, sales, risk, operations) to gather inputs and produce concise, accurate content for multiple channels and formats.
- Track effectiveness through practical measures (reach, engagement, leader feedback, and action completion) and use insights to improve clarity, cadence, and impact.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related field, preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience supporting senior leaders with executive writing and internal/business communications in a complex organization.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging communications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional PowerPoint expertise.
- Experience supporting executive events, town halls, conferences, advisory boards, or large-scale internal meetings.
- Demonstrated ability to consult with stakeholders, understand business context quickly, and deliver timely, executive-ready materials in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with relentless attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Financial services or highly regulated industry experience, preferred.
Keys to Success in this Role:
- Business-fluent communicator who can turn strategy, data, and complex topics into clear narratives and practical messages.
- Trusted partner to senior leaders—able to influence with sound judgment, discretion, and a calm, solutions-oriented approach.
- Highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Embraces new technologies and actively explores opportunities to apply AI and automation to enhance workflows, solve problems and create greater impact.
