Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Defines and governs IT infrastructure architecture, ensuring alignment with long-term business strategy and technology vision.

  • Develops multi-year infrastructure roadmaps and investment strategies, influencing budget planning and organizational priorities.

  • Establishes enterprise architecture frameworks and governance models, ensuring consistency, compliance, and scalability across all infrastructure domains.

  • Designs and enforces advanced security and compliance architectures, addressing regulatory requirements and emerging cyber threats.

  • Provides architectural oversight for large-scale, mission-critical initiatives, including cloud transformation, hybrid environments, and global network optimization.

  • Leads strategic planning for infrastructure modernization, including lifecycle management, automation, and AI-driven operations.

  • Oversees the creation and maintenance of architectural documentation, standards, and reference models.

  • Partners with senior leadership and business units to translate strategic objectives into actionable technology initiatives.

  • Manages strategic vendor relationships and negotiates high-value contracts, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and cost optimization.

  • Directs the development and testing of enterprise business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring resilience at scale.

  • Champions emerging technologies and innovation initiatives. Evaluates their potential to deliver competitive advantage and operational efficiency.

  • May be responsible for performance and coaching of staff and has a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience: Generally, a minimum of 10 years of related experience that includes experience in Infrastructure Engineering. Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation preferred, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator.

Scope of Job/Qualifications: Demonstrates expert knowledge in IT infrastructure components, including servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and hybrid cloud environments. Provides consultancy on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions. Maintains a strong customer and business focus. Exhibits advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, leveraging data-driven insights to guide architectural decisions and resolve highly complex infrastructure challenges across multiple domains. Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V, and experience in cloud infrastructure including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Skilled in automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Terraform, with a strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Serves as a subject matter expert for network and systems architecture. Mentors and provides technical leadership and expertise to architects and senior engineers.
