Description
This position is initially temporary but may have the potential to become a permanent part-time or full-time position based on business needs and job performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete routine building repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Perform light carpentry, drywall patching, and minor door and lock repairs.
- Replace damaged or stained ceiling tiles.
- Complete basic, non-licensed plumbing repairs involving faucets, toilets, minor clogs, and water lines.
- Replace HVAC air filters and inspect emergency exit lights.
- Perform routine facility and safety walk-throughs.
- Complete interior and exterior touch-up painting, surface preparation, and trim repairs.
- Help keep the shop, warehouse, mechanical areas, and common areas clean, safe, and organized.
- Remove exterior trash and debris.
- Pressure wash walkways and perform light landscaping and parking-area upkeep.
- Travel to other company properties or locations to complete routine maintenance and punch-list repairs.
- Clean and sanitize high-traffic common areas and shop facilities as needed.
- Monitor maintenance and cleaning supplies and report when supplies need to be reordered.
- Assist with small facility projects, assembly work, and local pickup or delivery of parts and materials.
- Complete assigned work orders and communicate the status of repairs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least two years of hands-on experience in building maintenance, general construction, handyman services, or a similar position.
- Working knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general repair work.
- Ability to work independently, manage daily assignments, and complete punch-list items efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Reliable personal transportation for travel to company properties and local vendors. Mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
- Must own and provide standard hand and power tools used for routine maintenance work. Specialty equipment and project materials will be provided.
- Dependable, organized, and attentive to safety.
- Flexible part-time availability.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver items weighing up to 50–75 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to safely use ladders and step stools and work at standard ceiling heights.
- Ability to perform work indoors and outdoors in Florida weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform physical maintenance tasks throughout the workday.
