Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Certified Pharmacy Tech I, you will assist the Pharmacist in all operations related to medication preparation and distribution, where extreme accuracy and meticulous attention to detail are paramount.
Every day, you will accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations, compound non-sterile dosage forms, and effectively utilize inventory management systems and automated dispensing cabinets. Operating in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and often high-stress environment with constant interruptions, you will leverage your high-level security clearance to access all medication storage areas, procedural areas, and surgical suites. You must strictly abide by all state and federal regulations, including stringent record-keeping and infection prevention standards, while consistently prioritizing work to respond to acute critical patient needs alongside scheduled duties.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and a strong willingness to work as a cohesive member of a team. Your ability to accurately prepare medications, manage inventory, navigate a highly regulated environment, and maintain composure under pressure will be crucial in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring patient safety.
- Perform all duties of a pharmacy technician in accordance with established policies and procedures related to the preparation and distribution of medication.
- Perform duties required to restock medication dispensing cabinets and fill first doses.
- Perform duties required for patient specific medication delivery.
- Perform duties required for narcotic distribution and assist in discrepancy resolution.
- Ensure current dating of all supplies and medications.
- Maintain all records and documents in accordance with with state and federal regulations.
Job Requirements
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Registered Pharmacy Tech in the state in which the employee works, PHARMTECH:CO
- Active CPTEXCPT or CPTPTCB or CPHT certification in good standin
