Description

Ice Miller is seeking a summer associate who is interested in patent prosecution and intellectual property litigation to join our Intellectual Property team in Philadelphia or New York. Candidates must have a technical degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or life sciences, including biology, microbiology, or chemistry.

Ice Miller’s 10-week summer associate program includes:

  • Exposure to our Intellectual Property practice group as well as opportunities to learn about the firm’s other practice groups,
  • Opportunities to develop direct working relationships with our attorneys and patent agents to enhance your research, writing, and presentation skills,
  • Guidance, mentoring, and regular feedback,
  • In-depth training focused on professional and substantive legal skills,
  • Opportunities for client contact,
  • Social events and team building activities,
  • And competitive compensation.

 

In addition to excellent academic credentials and technical background outlined above, we seek IP summer associates who:

  • Are eligible to take the Patent Bar,
  • Have an interest in litigation,
  • Possess strong writing and analytical ability,
  • Excel in a team environment,
  • Demonstrate leadership skills,
  • Have prior work experience, including legal, military, or service industry experience,
  • Are curious, motivated, and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic work environments,
  • Manage their time and their projects diligently,
  • And have prior experiences that prepare them to work with attorneys/agents, staff, and clients from cultures and backgrounds different from their own.

  • Have permanent authorization to work in the United States,
  • And have obtained an undergraduate degree and are enrolled in the JD class of 2028 at an accredited law school.

New York compensation for this role is $4,134 weekly.

Philadelphia compensation for this role is $3,990 weekly.
