Description
Travel Resorts of America is looking for a professional, customer-focused Collections Specialist to join our Collections Department. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys helping customers, solving problems, and communicating clearly in a busy office environment.
In this role, you will assist members with past-due accounts, answer billing questions, help resolve concerns, and provide courteous support throughout the account resolution process. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable handling phone-based customer interactions with professionalism and empathy.
What You'll Do
- Communicate with members regarding past-due accounts and available account options.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls in a courteous, professional manner.
- Answer questions related to account balances, billing, and payment arrangements.
- Research and help resolve account disputes, billing concerns, and customer complaints.
- Document account activity accurately and maintain detailed records.
- Process account adjustments, refunds, and other account-related transactions as appropriate.
- Follow company policies and procedures while providing accurate information to members.
- Support departmental goals through consistent communication, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Assist with administrative duties and department projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in collections, customer service, call center operations, account management, billing support, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and general computer use.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain professional during sensitive conversations.
- Dependable, team-oriented approach with a commitment to customer service.
- Availability to work one Saturday per month on a rotating schedule with other team members.
Preferred
- Experience in collections, accounts receivable, customer retention, or billing support.
- Experience handling difficult conversations while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
