Description

JLL empowers you to shape a brighter way.

Our people at JLL are shaping the future of real estate for a better world by combining world class services, advisory and technology for our clients. We are committed to hiring the best, most talented people and empowering them to thrive, grow meaningful careers and to find a place where they belong.  Whether you’ve got deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades or technology, or you’re looking to apply your relevant experience to a new industry, join our team as we help shape a brighter way forward.

What this job involves:

As the Building Engineering Coordinator, you will supervise and coordinate all electromechanical maintenance services while synchronizing technicians' duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes. This role supports the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives while ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators. At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way — for our clients, ourselves, and our fellow employees. You will support the Facilities Manager on building maintenance and operations, contract services, budget management, third-party vendor management, and purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring that the portfolio operates in consistency with regional programs and company/client policies and standard operational procedures. What sets JLL apart is our culture of collaboration, locally and across the globe, which allows us to create transformative solutions for the real estate industry. You will be accountable to work with the client to resolve complex key risks, issues, and concerns while advising on remediation and mitigation strategies and acting as the point of contact for client audits, testing, and assessments. We support each other's wellbeing and champion inclusivity and belonging across teams. This hands-on leadership role requires technical expertise, strong supervisory skills, and the ability to balance day-to-day operational support with strategic vendor management and compliance oversight in a dynamic facilities environment.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Monitor the Maintenance Technicians team and coordinate daily tasks in partnership with the Facilities Manager and other touchpoint organizations to ensure seamless execution of maintenance activities
  • Support the team on their day-to-day activities by performing highly diversified duties to install and maintain facility equipment as well as basic administrative tasks such as managing and placing Purchase Orders, budget controls, and collecting and keeping data up-to-date to feed operational key performance indicators dashboards
  • Perform scheduled maintenance repairs and provide emergency/unscheduled repairs support to ensure minimal disruption to building operations and client activities
  • Supervise preventive scheduled maintenance services provided by third parties or the property owner while keeping close communication to timely escalate issues and address solutions
  • Manage and address service tickets within applicable SLAs, ensuring timely resolution and high customer satisfaction while tracking performance metrics
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments across building systems and equipment to maintain optimal operational performance
  • Perform a variety of electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall fixes, and other electromechanical systems/equipment minor maintenance, adjustment, and testing functions as needed
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties safely and efficiently
  • Detect faulty operations, defective materials, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision while recommending corrective actions
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas while promoting a culture of safety awareness among the maintenance team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical School Diploma/Degree as minimum or equivalent number of years of working experience in maintenance and supervision roles with electromechanical focus
  • 2+ years of experience in similar roles in corporate offices managing electromechanical equipment and engineering/maintenance teams and third-party vendors
  • Basic knowledge and working experience of related areas such as EHS and systems such as UPSs, Generators, water pumps, Fire Protection Systems, HVAC, and other critical building infrastructure
  • Working experience and/or knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and web-based ticketing systems with ability to manage service requests and track performance data
  • Ability to manage people and third-party vendors to deliver integrated facilities management services that meet client expectations and operational standards
  • High customer service attitude with ability to provide a practical and innovative service experience to the client and internal associates in all interactions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to enable a conducive, responsive, and proactive environment with a high teamwork and cooperation spirit among partners including third-party vendors, business key stakeholders, colleagues, and property owners
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment in prioritizing tasks and resolving issues
  • Good level of verbal and written communication skills with ability to document maintenance activities, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electromechanical Engineering degree or related technical certification demonstrating advanced knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices
  • Intermediate English language proficiency enabling effective communication with global teams and international vendors
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Maximo, ServiceNow, or similar platforms for work order management and asset tracking
  • Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to facilities operations
  • Experience managing budgets, procurement processes, and vendor contract compliance in facilities management environments
  • Certification in areas such as HVAC, electrical systems, fire protection, or facilities management (e.g., CMVP, CFM, FMP)
  • Experience supporting client audits, inspections, and compliance assessments with ability to prepare documentation and coordinate testing activities
  • Background in continuous improvement methodologies with ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process enhancements
  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish/English) supporting diverse workforce and client communication needs.
