The Opportunity:
Executive Director of Revenue Accounting, reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller, this position is a critical member of the corporate accounting team, will interface with leaders from across the organization including domestic and international subsidiaries, and will be responsible for revenue recognition, policies, disclosures ensuring all revenue accounting activities are accurately performed in compliance with GAAP, government compliance regulations, and internal control requirements.
This position operates within a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be present in the Reston, Virginia (HQ) office three (3) days per week.
Responsibilities:
• The application of the Company’s revenue recognition policy, procedures and internal controls spanning the program lifecycle (consulting pre-award through to contract close out), including product revenue streams.
• Will lead a multi-year revenue accounting transformational project modernizing our accounting systems, processes, procedures, controls and policies.
• Leading the Operational Accounting Team, which consists of +30 professionals as well as maintains oversight over all offline subsidiaries’ revenue recognition policies, practices and disclosures.
• For periodic and quarterly close, Operational Accounting performs the bookkeeping for program revenue, direct cost accruals, indirect cost reserves, explanation of contract fee fluctuations, contract balances and other program related assets and liabilities.
• Coordinates the quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) process and working directly with Program Finance teams to ensure EACs are completed in accordance with company policy.
• Actively participate in the financial reporting process and responsible for the preparation of all revenue and related contract balance disclosures, including contract awards and backlog.
• Engage with the external auditors in support of their audits.
• Work closely with Government Compliance, FP&A, Program Finance and Contracts to manage revenue recognition associated with indirect rate variances, intercompany transactions and to support the contract closeout process.
• Participate in M&A diligence and post-acquisition integration.
• Maintain and monitor department compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of 15 years' experience in accounting, including extensive experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606) and at least 5 years in the Federal Contracting Industry.
• CPA (Active)
• Expert knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, Cost Accounting Standards, and controls.
• Strong knowledge of Deltek’s suite of applications, to include Costpoint and Cognos. Primary emphasis on evaluating setup related to revenue recognition, ensuring entries are timely included in the financial statements and analyzing output to ensure accuracy of the revenue calculation.
• Previous experience of managing and supervising a diverse team of accounting professionals in a remote/teleworking environment.
• Experience reviewing Estimates at Completion (EAC) calculations and documentation.
• Excellent understanding of ASC 606 and US GAAP.
• Demonstrated success working with large volumes of data, within the Deltek or SAP framework, and external data such as excel or other data mining and reporting tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A proven ability to be decisive, resolve issues and timely deliver on commitments/deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a respectful, positive, and professional disposition while engaging with internal and external customers.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$161,200 - $354,500
