ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced MRI Radiographer to step into the role of MRI Modality Lead at our O'Connor clinic.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced MRI professional looking to take the next step in their career, combining hands-on clinical work with leadership, mentoring and operational responsibility.

As MRI Modality Lead, you will provide day-to-day leadership and clinical expertise to the MRI team, ensuring our service continues to operate safely, efficiently and to a consistently high clinical standard.

Working closely with Radiologists, site leadership and the broader technical team, you'll play an important role in developing our people, maintaining best-practice MRI protocols and supporting the continued growth and development of MRI services at Apex.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will:

  • Provide clinical leadership, support and direction to the MRI team
  • Maintain a high-quality, efficient and patient-focused MRI service
  • Ensure examinations are completed safely, accurately and in accordance with established MRI protocols
  • Promote best-practice MRI safety, quality control and scanning techniques
  • Support MRI workflow, rostering and appropriate team coverage
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and technical support to MRI Radiographers
  • Support staff training, competency development, education and CPD opportunities
  • Maintain and continually improve MRI protocols, procedures and safety practices
  • Oversee the appropriate use, care and maintenance of MRI equipment and accessories
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment and operational issues and liaise with relevant stakeholders and vendors where required
  • Work collaboratively with Radiologists and other modality and site leaders
  • Participate in quality audits, incident management and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Remain up to date with developments in MRI technology, techniques and industry best practice
  • Contribute to the ongoing growth and development of MRI services

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an experienced MRI Radiographer who combines strong technical expertise with a supportive and collaborative leadership style.

You will ideally have:

  • Degree qualification in Medical Imaging or equivalent
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Current WA Radiation Use Licence, or eligibility to obtain
  • Strong clinical experience in MRI and a sound understanding of MRI safety and scanning protocols
  • MRI qualifications/accreditation relevant to your level of practice
  • Previous leadership, supervisory or senior MRI experience, or the desire and capability to step into a leadership role
  • Strong working knowledge of RIS/PACS systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with Radiologists, clinical teams and other stakeholders
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills with the ability to effectively support a busy clinical environment
  • A genuine interest in mentoring others and developing the capability of the MRI team
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement

Postgraduate MRI qualifications and additional leadership or management experience will be highly regarded.
