Description
Seeking an experienced Project Manager 2 - Construction to work with one of our construction management teams at one of our largest energy accounts in Houston, TX. This position functions as a key member of the Design and Construction management team. This Project Manager 2 - Construction will collaborate with a team of project managers who will oversee capital project teams and stakeholders, ensuring all contractual obligations are fulfilled throughout the design, construction, and implementation phases.
What You Will Do:
- Develop project schedules and execute according to plan for assigned projects.
- Evaluate the contractual scope of work and the impact of client issued bulletins, field directives and/or scheduling changes.
- Actively pursue additional work through change orders.
- Perform associated cost estimates, prepare proposals, and negotiate final settlement price and customer acceptance.
- Effectively communicate project progress, issues, and financial status to management as required.
- Develop and maintain viable long-term relationships with consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors.
- Attend and lead job progress meetings as required.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable
- Minimum of 5 years of Construction/Project Management experience within new construction, renovations, MEP infrastructure, and working in critical environments preferred
- Strong Personal Computer working capabilities in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows environment) as well as MS project, Procore and Bluebeam preferred
- OSHA 30 (or the ability to gain certification within 120 days of hire)
- Ability to embrace ambiguity and work effectively in environments with undefined processes.
Position Summary:
- Facilities Construction Project Management. Leads or coordinates construction projects, such as developing a new facility, the addition, expansion, or extension of an existing facility, or renovation/alterations to a facility in collaboration with project team, construction site and management. Can develop entry level project budgets, make project assignments based on skill sets of contractors & vendors, build entry level project schedules and timetables, and lead project responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project. Organizes and directs construction personnel, and ensures that materials and equipment resources are delivered on time.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Minimum Management Experience - 5 years
- Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity within construction
MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree is highly desirable.
- 5 years of Construction/Project Management experience within new construction, renovations, MEP infrastructure, and working in critical environments preferred.
- 3 years' work experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations or engineering services.
- 5 years of Management Experience.
- Strong Personal Computer working capabilities in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows environment) as well as MS project, Procore and Bluebeam preferred.
- OSHA 30 (or the ability to gain certification within 120 days of hire).
