Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant II that sssists in the examination and treatment of patients by tracking patient information, documenting the medical record, assisting with in office procedures and testing, administering medications and providing patient and caregiver education.
What You'll Do:
- Indirect Work support, e.g., managing tasks
- Performs moderate to complex Gaps in Care.
- Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
- Support within scope with prior authorizations.
- Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
- Quality control, e.g., lab logs, practice audits
- Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
- Transcribes patient exam information, diagnosis and plan into medical record.
General Requirements:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved:
- MA program and MA Externship;
- MA Internship;
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program;
- Paramedic program; or
- Certified Athletic Trainer.
If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.
CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE:
MA-Non-Credentialed II: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired, or EMT with current/active license in the State of Michigan, or Paramedic following successful completion of the National Registry Paramedic Exam and/or holds a current/active license in the State of Michigan. Valid CPR certification.
MA-Credentialed II: Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
- American Medical Technologists (RMA)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
- National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
- National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
- American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years’ previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
