Description
The Sun Prairie Public Library is currently hiring for two Library Page positions: one at 10 hours per week and another at 15 hours per week! This position ensures that staff and patrons are able to promptly find various library materials by placing returned books, audiovisual materials, magazines and newspapers in the correct location on the proper shelf.
Schedule 10-hr
Approximately 10 hours per week, starting on or around October 19th
Available shifts will likely include a combination of Saturdays from 12:15-5:15pm and Mondays from 4:15-9:15pm
Evenings and weekends are required.
Must be 16 years of age or older, with the ability to work flexible hours.

Must be 16 years of age or older, with the ability to work flexible hours.
- Performs alpha-numeric sorting tasks.
- Sorts and arranges library materials for shelving and shelves them in proper order.
- Monitors shelves for neatness and correct shelving order.
- Empties book drop.
- Monitors minor maintenance issues affecting the book drop or collections and assists/reports as necessary.
- Refers non-directional questions to appropriate staff members.
- Straightens and picks up library.
- Prepares meeting rooms for events as needed.
- Assists with opening and closing the library.
- Retrieves items to send to other libraries.
- Assists patrons with library equipment.
- Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge of
- Requires knowledge and ability to sort efficiently in alphabetic or numeric order.
- Ability to understand and perform routine library procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and public.
- Ability to develop a working understanding of the Dewey Decimal and other systems of library arrangement

- Work is performed mostly in a Library setting; hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
