An engineering co-op opportunity for the Spring of 2027 is available on the AES Ohio Substation Engineering team. This position will provide the intern with practical engineering experience as it relates to the design of electrical substations.
Key Responsibilities:
Work alongside staff engineers to help design parts of 12kV through 345kV substations, including physical layouts, one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Assist in producing detailed engineering design packages in accordance with AES Ohio and relevant industry standards (IEEE, NERC, etc.).
Complete additional assignments as determined by their supervisor.
Qualifications:
A student pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
An academic standing of Sophomore or higher is preferred. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with a strong academic background, exceptional attention to detail, and organizational skills.
A proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is preferred.
