Description

Don't just market to customers. Understand what drives them.

Banks has been engineering automotive performance products since 1958 - setting records, winning championships, and building engines the U.S. military trusts. At Banks, great marketing starts with understanding the customer: what they want, what problem they're solving, and what information they need before they're ready to buy.

We're looking for a self-directed marketer who can turn those answers into content, campaigns, and customer journeys that drive action - someone who wonders why a customer didn't buy, sees opportunities others miss, wants to understand why one product outperforms another, and uses modern AI tools to research, ideate, automate, analyze, write, and edit. If that's how your brain works, we should talk.

What You'll Drive
This position has two primary missions.

1. Turn Interest Into Customers

Thousands of people interact with Banks every day. They research products, compare options, join our lists, abandon carts, purchase products - and sometimes disappear. Your job is to keep the conversation going.
•    Own lifecycle marketing strategy from concept through execution and optimization.
•    Build and manage email and SMS campaigns, automated journeys, funnels, flows, and behavioral triggers.
•    Segment audiences using website activity, engagement, purchase behavior, and other meaningful signals.
•    Create abandonment, nurture, post-purchase, re-engagement, and cross-sell programs.
•    Write persuasive email, SMS, landing-page, and campaign copy.
•    A/B test messaging, offers, and journeys; measure conversions, revenue, and engagement - then improve what works.

2. Help People - and AI - Find Banks

Customers still use Google, but they're increasingly asking AI systems what to buy and why one product is better than another. We want Banks surfaced - and recommended for the right reasons.
•    Create and optimize content for organic search and product discovery using SEO plus GEO, AEO, and LLM-discovery practices. Work with outside GEO/AEO/LLM consultants as needed.
•    Use SEMrush, Google Search Console, and Ai tools to uncover search opportunities, content gaps, and customer questions.
•    Turn product information, engineering data, test results, and existing marketing materials into useful, discoverable content.
•    Clearly explain what our products do, who they're for, how they're different, and why those differences matter.
•    Identify valuable content that doesn't exist yet - and create it. As your product knowledge grows, so will opportunities to develop explainers, FAQs, buying guides, and product comparisons.

What We're Looking For
Degree optional. Ability isn't. We care more about what you can do than where you learned to do it.
•    2+ years of marketing experience and 1+ year of serious, hands-on professional AI use. You shouldn't join Banks expecting to learn AI. You should already use it every day.
•    Experience with lifecycle marketing, email, SMS, CRM, content, or marketing automation.
•    Strong understanding of customer journeys, segmentation, funnels, and behavioral marketing.
•    Strong writing and editing skills - or exceptional ability to direct AI and refine its output into polished, persuasive content.
•    Working knowledge of SEO, keyword research, organic content strategy, GEO, AEO, and LLM optimization.
•    An analytical mindset, independence, curiosity, organization, and attention to detail.
•    Experience with our stack is a major plus: Attentive | HubSpot | Shopify | WordPress | SEMrush | Google Search Console | Adobe Creative Suite.

Cars Help. Curiosity Matters More.
You'll be surrounded by engines, turbochargers, trucks, performance testing, fabrication, engineers, and people who genuinely care about how things work. You don't need to know the Banks catalog on Day One. We can teach products. We can't teach curiosity. If you already know how a turbocharger works, you're going to get our attention.

The Environment
•    Fast-paced, hands-on, no-nonsense, and fun
•    Real engineers, real products, real data, real deadlines
•    Direct access to an enormous amount of existing technical and marketing content
•    In-house graphic art and video teams, and other creative resources
•    Collaboration with marketing, engineering, product experts, and outside specialists
•    Enough autonomy to try things and enough accountability to measure whether they worked
