National General Manager – Distribution Centre

A leading FMCG manufacturing company is looking for an accomplished National General Manager – Distribution Centre to provide strategic and operational leadership across its national DC network

This is a high-impact executive opportunity for a commercially driven leader who can optimise a complex distribution network, build high-performing leadership teams and create scalable operations to support continued business growth

You will have the opportunity to influence national strategy, network design, capacity planning, operational performance, technology, automation and major transformation initiatives

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute the national Distribution Centre strategy, network design and capacity plans
• Lead and hold DC General Managers and functional leaders accountable for operational, financial, service and people performance
• Drive end-to-end DC performance, OTIF, transport efficiency, inventory accuracy and store service levels
• Oversee budgets, cost-to-serve, labour productivity and sustainable cost improvement
• Identify capacity requirements and lead recommendations for new facilities, infrastructure, automation and technology investments
• Drive WMS, analytics, automation and process optimisation across the DC network
• Build leadership capability, succession pipelines and strong third-party logistics and supplier relationships
• Ensure strong Food Safety, Quality, Health & Safety and regulatory compliance

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or related field
• 8–10 years' progressive Distribution Centre, logistics or supply chain leadership experience
• Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership position such as General Manager, Head of Distribution or equivalent
• Proven experience leading high-volume, multi-disciplinary DC operations
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control and capital expenditure
• Proven experience in capacity planning, automation, WMS implementation or major operational transformation
• Strong strategic leadership, change management and people development capabilities
• FMCG, food, perishables, retail or QSR distribution experience preferred
