Quality Inspector
Location: Battle Creek, MI
Pay: $16.00/hour
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Job Summary
We are hiring a Quality Inspector to help ensure products meet quality and customer requirements. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Quality Inspector will perform inspections, record production data, follow standardized work instructions, and help maintain a safe and organized work area.
Responsibilities
- Inspect products to ensure they meet quality and production requirements.
- Follow standardized work instructions and quality procedures.
- Accurately collect and record inspection and project data.
- Perform visual inspections and identify defects or quality concerns.
- Use basic measuring and inspection tools as needed.
- Help ensure work areas meet 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Communicate quality concerns to team members and leadership.
- Assist team members with quality-related tasks as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
- Complete required training within established timeframes.
- Maintain professional appearance and workplace conduct.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, production, or quality inspection experience preferred.
- Experience using hand tools is a plus.
- Experience with basic measuring tools such as calipers or micrometers is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of measurements and quality standards.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Must be able to successfully complete required background and pre-employment screening.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend as needed.
- Ability to handle and lift items weighing approximately 10–50 pounds for extended periods.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to distinguish between colors, including red, yellow, and green.
- Ability to work around dust, mist, vapors, and fumes while wearing required PPE.
- Ability to wear required safety equipment, including safety glasses and appropriate hair protection.
