We are seeking a skilled Mill-Turn Machinist for either 1st (6:00 AM to 3:30 PM) or 2nd Shift (3:30 PM to 12:30 AM with shift differential. The CNC Mill-Turn Machinist will set up and operate CNC mill-turn (multi-tasking) machines to produce high-quality, precision components. This position is ideal for a machinist with solid experience who can work independently, troubleshoot routine issues, and consistently meet quality and production standards 


Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mill-turn/multitasking machines
  • Install and align chucks, collets, fixtures, tooling, and live tools.
  • Load and qualify turning tools, milling cutters, drills, and probes.
  • Set work offsets, tool offsets, and basic probing routines.
  • Run and make minor edits to CNC programs (G-code or conversational)
  • Perform combined turning and milling operations including: 
    • OD/ID turning, facing, grooving, and threading.
    • Live-tool milling, cross-drilling, and end-of-part machining.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure tolerances and finishes.
  • Make adjustments for tool wear and dimensional control.
  • Troubleshoot common machining, tooling, and setup issues.
  • Perform routine machine care and preventive maintenance.
  • Complete job travelers and inspection documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

  

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
  • 4+ years of CNC machining experience with mill-turn or multi-axis equipment.
  • Working knowledge of combined milling and turning processes.
  • Solid intermediate blueprint reading skills and GD&T knowledge.
  • Ability to perform independent setups with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators).
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with mill-turn machines such as Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, Doosan, or similar.
  • Basic CAM experience or program editing.
  • Job shop,  aerospace, medical, or high-precision manufacturing background.
  • Exposure to ISO, AS9100, or similar quality systems.

  

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods,
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a machine shop environment.
