Job Description:

The Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) team delivers best-in-class external and internal communications to help differentiate TD in the market and elevate our brand. Role Overview:

We're looking for an experienced, innovative communicator to serve in a new dual-mandate role that helps drive TD's earned media AI strategy for all lines of business, while also supporting PR activities for Canadian Personal Banking.

The successful candidate will:

• Serve as a key player in shaping how TD wins in large language model (LLM) visibility through earned media, while also championing AI enablement within PR workflows
• Lead proactive media engagement for Canadian Personal Banking through a mix of large integrated campaigns and scrappy newsjacking opportunities, with a primary focus on saving, investing, home lending and credit card products
• Elevate brand communications and deliver storytelling that resonates within key markets and among priority segments
• Collaborate with partners across the Bank to ensure strategy and messaging alignment, while building strong relationships
• Champion strategic priorities for Corporate and Public Affairs, working collaboratively with colleagues on cross-functional initiatives
• Be an advocate for clear, credible and transparent communications
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with key journalists

Desired qualifications and skills:

• 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, ideally within a large, matrixed organization
• Media relations experience for a major consumer brand in a highly regulated sector (banking/finance, telecommunications, transportation, etc.) is a significant asset
• Experience in a large agency environment or journalism (particularly a major market newsroom) is an asset
• Comprehensive knowledge of AI enablement and GEO best practices in public relations and corporate communications, as well as the importance of earned media in overall brand visibility within LLMs
• Demonstrated experience leading AI adoption and integration projects within a corporate communications function, preferably for a national or international brand
• A creative thinker with a passion for spearheading innovation and reimagining existing processes
• Skilled communicator with strong media relations background
• Proven track record driving impact and influence within complex corporate structures
• Deep understanding of the market including the media landscape, core audiences, the financial services/business sectors and overall operating environment
• Proactive and industrious
• Exceptional writing and editing skills and a passion for high-impact storytelling
• A history of designing and leading proactive, integrated national PR campaigns that effectively drive business objectives and win in share-of-voice
• Expertise in providing reputational counsel and developing client-centric corporate positioning in media messaging
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
• Self-starter who's highly motivated to deliver results, able to work independently and quickly adapt to evolving corporate priorities
• Undergraduate degree in communications or journalism, or equivalent, required 
• Candidate must reside in Toronto as this role operates under a hybrid work model
