We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting department and oversee all daily financial operations. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, managing accounting processes, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, and providing financial information and analysis to management. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The Accounting Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the financial health and operational stability of the organization. By overseeing the accounting function, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve processes, this role helps provide management with reliable financial information needed to make informed business decisions. The Accounting Manager will also help ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies while supporting the organization’s continued growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement systems for collecting, analyzing, documenting, verifying, and reporting financial information.
- Manage the daily operations of the entity, including, but not limited to, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, the general ledger, and payroll.
- Manage the month-end closing process, including review and reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
- Generate various reports with financial and nonfinancial indicators for management or other stakeholders.
- Provide recommendations for improving systems, processes, and procedures and initiate corrective action.
- Manage or assist in the annual external audit process.
- Perform other duties and assist with special projects as necessary.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in accounting, FP&A, financial analysis, or a similar role.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Ability to direct and supervise.
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and prioritize multiple projects.
- High attention to accuracy and detail.
- Ability to manipulate large data sets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with proper procedures for month-end cutoff transactions and reconciliation of subledgers to the General Ledger.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of NetSuite preferred.
Location: Shelton, CT
Hybrid-Office Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
Compensation is based on factors including level of experience, skillset, qualifications, and location.
