What you will do
The Retail Security Territory Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing installation and service operations across a defined territory. This role combines hands-on operational leadership with team management, subcontractor coordination, and customer communication to ensure strong execution, compliance, and cost control. The territory typically covers 2-3 U.S. states or Canadian provinces and may support approximately 600 installations and 3,000 services per year, representing about $3.5M in annual revenue. You will report to the Regional Field Operations Manager and lead 8-12 field service technicians while helping maintain a qualified contractor base.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and oversee installation and service operations across the assigned territory.
Monitor team workload and optimize resource planning to meet SLA requirements, escalating staffing needs to the Regional Manager when needed.
Coordinate installation schedules, site surveys, and subcontractor resources to support timely execution.
Supervise van stock within the territory to support first-time fix rates and cost optimization targets.
Drive alignment with Sales and Business Operations to support company priorities and customer commitments.
Develop and mentor field service technicians and subcontractors through coaching, administrative approvals, and performance management.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, installation quality expectations, and licensing requirements.
Collect and report installation progress, service performance, and key operational metrics.
Support process improvements across the territory and implement changes in line with top-down guidelines.
Manage customer communications through preferred channels such as email, phone, and the customer portal, addressing concerns in a timely manner.
Monitor scheduling activities, resolve escalations promptly, and act as the first field escalation point within the territory.
Manage installation scope changes, risks, and issues for smaller installations, escalating larger-project issues to the assigned Project Manager when applicable.
Oversee permitting and licensing processes, including required permits and regulatory compliance for incoming installations.
Approve overtime requests and installation cost overruns up to $500 within delegated authority.
Maintain a qualified contractor base aligned with procurement guidelines, technical capability, and availability.
Ensure required project deliverables are completed and submitted on time.
How You Will Do It
- Own outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity by keeping schedules, costs, quality, and compliance under control while making sound decisions for customers and the business.
- Stay close to the work and remove obstacles quickly by reviewing field capacity, site readiness, permits, van stock, and subcontractor availability before issues affect service delivery.
- Use clear communication to keep customers informed through email, phone, and the customer portal, setting expectations and addressing concerns in a timely way.
- Improve every day through candor and problem-solving by tracking KPIs such as SLA attainment, NPS, margin, and cost control, then turning trends into practical actions.
- Win as one team by working closely with Sales, Business Operations, Project Management, technicians, and contractors to balance customer needs and operational priorities.
- Develop people through coaching and consistency by mentoring team members, reinforcing quality and safety standards, and supporting strong field performance.
What we look for
