General Summary:
Qualcomm is looking for an experienced Power System Engineer who is passionate in solving power challenges and develops innovative solutions for optimizing power for Snapdragon wearable, camera and robotics Projects.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for the analysis and optimization power consumption across various stages of our project development process. You will take the lead and collaborate closely with chipset power and technology teams to ensure our products meet power efficiency requirements. You are expected to have knowledge about Linux power management system, suspend/resume flow, Linux idle state selection, CPUDCVS architecture.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify power requirements and quantify power gap/risk areas, optimize power consumption to meet the requirements
- Analyze and debug system sleep block issues, optimize button power consumption
- Analyze high DDR/CPU utilization issues, and provide optimization methos
- Generate comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing analysis results and providing actionable recommendations to cross-functional teams
- Support CE to analysis customer power issue.
Minimum Qualifications
- A master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent field is required as a minimum.
- Strong experience in developing and utilizing performance and power models using languages such as C and Python.
- Solid knowledge of power management techniques such as Linux suspend/resume flow and idle state selection
- System knowledge of Linux CPUDCVS architecture, CPU frequency governor PELT/WALT algorithm
- System knowledge of Linux devfreq architecture
- System knowledge of Linux thermal management
- Strong experience of power analysis usage such as systrace, simpleperf, etc
- Ability to review hardware schematic
- Better to have experience with camera power optimization
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
