Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting digital manufacturing solutions across MES, equipment data systems, operational applications, analytics platforms, and AI-enabled manufacturing capabilities.

This role partners with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Quality, and OT teams to build and sustain data-driven manufacturing workflows that improve operational efficiency, equipment reliability, troubleshooting effectiveness, and digital transformation initiatives

Position Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and support digital/AI manufacturing solutions that improve operational efficiency, data visibility, and decision-making across manufacturing operations.
• Design and support system integrations between manufacturing and equipment enterprise systems, equipment data sources and enterprise data platforms.
• Develop and optimize databases, data pipelines, APIs, and reporting solutions to ensure reliable and scalable manufacturing data flows.
• Design and build AI agents capable of making business-context-aware decisions, taking actions across enterprise systems and workflows, and operating autonomously within defined guardrails
• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered products, applications, and intelligent workflow solutions
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Quality, OT, and IT teams to translate business requirements into digital solutions.
• Support system testing, validation, deployment, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of manufacturing applications and integrations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through automation, analytics, and digital transformation projects.
• Contribute to future manufacturing capabilities including operational intelligence, AI-assisted troubleshooting, predictive analytics, and smart manufacturing solutions.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in software development, application development, systems engineering, system integration, data engineering, or related technical roles.
• Strong database design and development experience using Microsoft SQL Server, including query optimization, views, and stored procedures.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, JavaScript, or equivalent object-oriented languages.
• Experience developing and supporting software applications, APIs, and system integrations.
• Experience using source control and version management tools such as GitHub.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, collaborate across functions, and deliver high-quality solutions in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and deployment practices.
• Experience with building and deploying AI agents in enterprise environments
• Demonstrated success developing agents that interact with and coordinate activities across multiple business platforms and technology ecosystems.
• Experience implementing multi-agent architectures, agent orchestration frameworks, tool calling and workflow execution, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, knowledge retrieval, and reasoning systems.

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:

• Experience with manufacturing systems, or industrial data platforms.
• Experience with Power BI, Databricks, Azure, cloud technologies, data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics platforms.
• Experience implementing AI solutions within large, global enterprises
• Exposure to operational technology, equipment connectivity, or industrial automation environments.
• Knowledge of vector databases, semantic search, enterprise knowledge management, and RAG solution patterns.
• Experience developing operational dashboards, reporting solutions, manufacturing applications, or workflow automation tools.
• Knowledge of AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, diagnostic solutions, knowledge management systems
• Experience working in regulated manufacturing, medical device, biotechnology, life sciences, semiconductor, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated interest in digital transformation, manufacturing systems integration, data-driven operations, and smart manufacturing initiatives.
