About the Role

We're looking for a First Line Controls Lead to strengthen and embed a robust risk and control environment across our Product function.

Reporting to the Head of First Line Controls (Product), you'll help ensure product risks are identified, understood and effectively managed. Working closely with Product, Risk, Compliance and Audit teams, you'll provide assurance, improve controls and support strong governance across the product lifecycle. You'll also play an important role in meeting regulatory obligations, including Consumer Duty, while helping deliver positive customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the identification, assessment and maintenance of Product risks and controls
• Develop and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
• Manage risk events, including root cause analysis and remediation planning
• Conduct control assurance reviews and drive continuous improvement
• Support Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs)
• Produce clear, insightful reporting for governance forums and senior stakeholders
• Partner with Product, Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit teams to strengthen first-line ownership of risk
• Enhance risk and controls frameworks, processes and tools

About You

You'll bring experience from a risk, controls, governance or assurance role within a regulated environment, alongside a practical and collaborative approach to risk management.

You'll be able to showcase:

• Experience designing, documenting and testing product risk and control frameworks within a financial services or regulated environment.
• Knowledge of risk event management, RCSAs and assurance activities.
• Strong understanding of risk identification, assessment and mitigation.
• The ability to influence stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of Consumer Duty and broader regulatory requirements would be beneficial
