Responsibilities
- Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions and concerns
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
- Maintain an organized and productive schedule
- Monitor the schedule for openings, cancellations, and opportunities to fill appointments
- Collect patient payments and accurately post payments to patient accounts
- Review and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Obtain necessary patient forms and signatures
- Maintain accurate patient records in Dentrix
- Follow office policies regarding cancellations, no-shows, and appointment changes
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits as needed
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding patient benefits and coverage
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
- Review diagnosed treatment plans with patients and explain recommended treatment in a clear and professional manner
- Educate patients about the importance of completing recommended treatment
- Discuss estimated insurance benefits and patient portions
- Explain available payment and financing options according to office policy
- Schedule treatment while the patient is in the office whenever possible
Qualifications
- 1+ years of prior dental treatment coordinating experience is required
- Knowledge of Dentrix software
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
