๐ Tasks and responsibilities
As Product Owner Employee Benefits, you play a central role in shaping and delivering the Employee Benefits strategy. You represent the business for one or more key products and processes within this domain and act as the link between business and IT.
This role focuses on 2nd pillar / group insurance solutions, including pension, disability and death cover offered by employers to their employees. You will work on products, services and digital journeys that support employers, brokers and insured members.
You translate the needs of customers, distribution partners and internal stakeholders into digital solutions and process improvements with clear added value. By combining customer focus, business insight and digital expertise, you help strengthen the Employee Benefits offering and improve the experience of customers and partners.
What will you do?
- Define and communicate the vision, roadmap and priorities for one or more key products and processes within Employee Benefits.
- Identify opportunities to improve and digitalize customer, partner and employee journeys.
- Translate business needs, customer feedback, regulatory requirements and strategic objectives into clear features, epics and user stories.
- Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business value and customer impact.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, Agile teams, architects, domain leads and other Product Owners.
- Work together with product developers, operations teams, customer service teams, distribution partners and portfolio managers to shape and deliver solutions.
- Support Agile ceremonies such as PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Reviews and Retrospectives in a SAFe Agile environment.
- Validate delivered solutions and ensure they meet business requirements and expected customer outcomes.
- Coordinate dependencies across teams and facilitate smooth collaboration between stakeholders.
- Contribute actively to transformation initiatives, digitalization projects and broader business transformation efforts supporting the Employee Benefits strategy.
- Monitor market trends, customer expectations and technological developments, and convert these into concrete improvement opportunities.
- Ensure alignment with stakeholders and manage expectations in a transparent and structured way.
- Address concrete challenges such as digitalizing employer and affiliate journeys, improving the administration and servicing of 2nd pillar pension plans and group insurance products, and simplifying processes to make them more transparent for customers and partners.
๐ Your profile
You combine strategic thinking with strong execution skills and know how to translate customer, employer, broker and employee needs into valuable digital solutions.
- Proven experience in 2nd pillar / group insurance is essential and a key success factor for this role.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in product ownership, digital transformation, customer journey redesign, project management or business transformation.
- Strong knowledge of Employee Benefits and the ability to shape products, improve customer journeys and manage priorities effectively.
- Experience managing initiatives with multiple stakeholders and balancing different interests.
- Customer-focused mindset with end-to-end thinking.
- Autonomous, hands-on and results-driven approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance long-term vision with short-term delivery.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent through experience.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments, ideally within a SAFe framework.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
- Enthusiastic team player who can bring people along in change.
