Avanade is growing, and we seek motivated and engaged technology professionals to join our Managed Services team delivering continuous value to our client’s businesses.
We are seeking an ERP Support Finance and Technical Engineer who can provide functional and technical support across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations environments, with a focus on Finance and related modules. You will work with business and technology stakeholders to resolve Finance-related queries, support configuration requests, investigate platform issues, and deliver low-to-medium complexity technical enhancements across active client environments.

Core to the Role
Provide day-to-day functional support for Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Finance modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash and Bank Management, Project Accounting, and Budgeting.
Analyse client issues and requests, then translate them into functional specifications, configuration changes, development requirements, or support actions.
Prepare and maintain functional design documentation, test scripts, support runbooks, service updates, and stakeholder engagement materials.
Support data migration activities, period-end close processes, reconciliation tasks, configuration changes, patches, and release-cycle testing.
Develop and maintain low-to-medium complexity customisations and extensions within Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
Build simple guides, support notes, test plans, release updates, and knowledge articles for clients, end users, and support teams.
Support service governance adoption, including ticket prioritisation, SLA commitments, documentation standards, knowledge management, access controls, and shared services processes.
Use Azure DevOps, APIs, data connectors, workflows, custom data entities, and Azure Integration Services where appropriate to support delivery and issue resolution.
Track incidents, ticket trends, platform issues, service outcomes, and client feedback, then recommend continuous improvements.
About You
You are an experienced Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations support professional with the ability to translate Finance business requirements and technical issues into reliable support outcomes. You have a strong understanding of core Finance processes, D365 F&O configuration, X++ development, custom data entities, workflows, integrations, testing, release support, and support requirements across live client environments. You are comfortable engaging with clients, functional teams, technical teams, service teams, and end users to deliver support services that are robust, practical, and aligned to business outcomes.
Professional Skillset
Strong working knowledge of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, Finance modules, configuration, X++ development, custom data entities, workflows, Azure DevOps, and support processes.
Experience supporting live ERP environments, Finance operations, client issue resolution, functional testing, release support, service delivery, and business process improvements.
Ability to investigate Finance-related issues, configuration defects, development requirements, integration problems, performance concerns, and data-related support issues.
Ability to create functional specifications, design documentation, test scripts, support runbooks, technical notes, release notes, and support artefacts.
Confident facilitator with experience running workshops, triage sessions, support status meetings, functional walkthroughs, and stakeholder briefings.
Understanding of D365 F&O support governance, service management, SLA commitments, ticket prioritisation, knowledge management, documentation standards, and release-cycle basics.
Secondary working knowledge of Azure Integration Services, Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, APIs, data connectors, custom workflows, and Microsoft cloud integration patterns.
Strong communication, problem-solving, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Education and Experience
5+ years’ experience supporting Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, ERP Finance solutions, live client environments, application support, or solution delivery roles.
Experience supporting Finance modules, data migration activities, SIT, end-user training, UAT, go-live activities, ticket resolution, and managed services programs.
Familiarity with General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash and Bank Management, Project Accounting, Budgeting, Azure DevOps, X++, APIs, and Azure Integration Services.
Experience building support processes, functional documentation, test plans, knowledge articles, service improvement actions, data migration checks, or client readiness plans.
Exposure to large complex client sites, D365 F&O integrations, performance investigations, custom data entities, workflow configuration, or broader Microsoft business applications delivery is desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, business systems, finance, accounting, engineering, or related field.
Candidates must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance. Existing Australian Government security clearance is highly regarded.
