Job Description
The Senior Project Manager leads complex cross-functional product development projects involving both software and hardware engineering teams in the Cell and Biomolecular Analysis Division. This role is responsible for driving project execution from concept through commercialization, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technical requirements and quality standards.
The successful candidate brings strong project leadership experience within complex product development environments and is comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams across software, hardware, firmware, systems engineering, scientific, and operational functions.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
Lead and manage complex new product development and product enhancement projects.
Develop and maintain integrated project plans covering software, hardware, verification, regulatory, and commercialization activities.
Drive project execution while balancing scope, schedule, quality, cost, and risk.
Ensure alignment of project objectives with strategic business priorities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Scientific, Quality, Regulatory, Product Management, Manufacturing, Operations, Marketing, and Service teams.
Ensure alignment of development schedules, integration activities, verification plans, and release readiness.
Facilitate effective communication and decision-making across global, cross-functional teams.
Resolve project issues and remove barriers to execution.
Support teams utilizing hybrid development methodologies.
Governance & Risk Management
Establish project governance structures and reporting mechanisms.
Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks and dependencies.
Escalate critical issues and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership.
Prepare and present project status, milestones, risks, and mitigation plans to management.
Continuous Improvement
Promote project management best practices across the organization.
Contribute to process improvements, portfolio management activities, and PMO initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences or a related field.
5+ years of project management experience in product development environments.
Proven experience managing software development projects.
Proven experience managing complex multidisciplinary product development projects.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Experience managing project budgets, schedules, risks, and stakeholder communications.
Excellent leadership, influencing, and communication skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in English
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) certification preferred.
Experience in applying Agile, hybrid, and predictive development methodologies in product development environments.
Experience in leading projects involving both software and hardware development is desirable.
