Description
The Maintenance Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for managing all maintenance engineer and corrective maintenance resources for the plant. This includes management of all Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Engineers, and Controls Engineers as well as indirect management of Maintenance Technicians. The Maintenance Manager is also ultimately responsible for all shut-down planning, preparation, contractor management, and execution of shutdown activities.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
· Manage Maintenance Supervisors and Engineers; empowering them to lead the day to day operations of the department.
· Analyze downtime reports on a daily basis and coordinate repair activities.
· Work with maintenance engineers to determine improvements, projects and other activities needed.
· Establish/ensure execution of PM plans for all production equipment; critically looking at major equipment and improving PM frequency value.
· Work with team to establish working standards and guidelines.
· Ensure production equipment downtimes are being resolved in an efficient, safe, and timely manner.
· Provide expert technical support when maintenance technicians or engineers have an issue.
· Provide informational report on down machines.
· Chart development and analysis involving OEE, MTBR, and MTTR.
· Perform root cause analysis summarizing maintenance issue, how it was solved, and how it can be prevented.
· Check and approve all work orders, ensuring proper documentation and environmental standards met.
· Lead efforts with the cross functional teams to ensure parts available in storeroom through identifying critical spares and setting BOMs for equipment.
· Work to secure capital investments for improvement projects when necessary.
· Plan and execute shutdown activities; coordinating both contractors and internal resources to the shutdown timeline and budget.
· Assist in training for maintenance and drive the team to develop work instructions.
· Develop and prioritize department improvement action items.
· Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
· Hires and trains maintenance department staff.
· Managerial administrative duties.
Requirements
· Knowledgeable of electronics, mechanics, and fluid power
· Knowledge of equipment controlling software such as Siemens PLC Suite and Allen-Bradley Suite.
· Knowledge of ABB robots.
· Ability to use electronic diagnostics equipment.
· Manual skills to operate tools and equipment when necessary.
· Skilled in strategic planning and system set-up.
· Ability to read electrical wiring and mechanical diagrams.
· Ability to draw pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical diagrams.
· Excellent oral and written language ability.
· Basic understanding of trigonometry.
· Excellent problem solving and reasoning ability.
· Ability to follow written procedures and guidelines.
· Excellent interpersonal abilities.
· Ability to adapt department plans to changing business or customer needs.
· Excellent project management skills.
· Knowledge of ISO Environmental regulations.
· Ability to lead others.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Engineering or related field.
· At least five years of maintenance leadership experience required.
· Prior experience in forging strongly preferred.
