What will you do in this position? 

The position is based in the Country Office and reports to Head of Logistics. WFP’s On Demand Service Provision under the commitment to supporting the humanitarian actors, and the UN80 Integrated Supply Chain Initiatives, is a collaborative effort to create a proposition to the wider humanitarian community, government and donors that is fast, scalable, and ready for future conflict, climate, economic and health emergencies. The increasing demand for complex supply chain solutions resulted in WFP supporting an unprecedented number of partners across more countries than ever before.

The job holder is to provide a range of specialized support functions for the implementation of standard On-Demand Service Provision processes and activities to enable effective and timely delivery of the services to the clients

WFP provides logistics support to humanitarian and development partners, allowing them to reach more people faster, and at a lower cost to donors and the environment. By offering our cash-based transfer platform to the wider humanitarian and development community, coordinating logistics, and developing an inter-agency common feedback mechanism, WFP contributes to wider humanitarian efforts.

How can you make a difference?

• Coordinate the Country Office’s On-Demand Service Provision (ODS) activities and manage the end‑to‑end process from demand assessment, request management to establishing an agreement, and service delivery, ensuring proper documentation and overall compliance with WFP rules and regulations.
• Manage ODS data systems, trackers, and SOPs. Ensure data quality, integration, and accessibility. Ensure WFP corporate WFP systems are fully utilized, and context specific local SOPs are developed
• Provide technical guidance to clients on accessing WFP’s ODS System (UN Booking Hub) and liaise with HQ support team (if required)
• Monitoring the stock movements, inventory systems, improving service data quality, and contributing to operational planning regularly.
• Provide operational support to all area/field offices, responding to requests, and helping resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Assist with budget preparation, monitoring and revision for all delivery modalities, ensuring adherence to relevant procedures and compliance with corporate standards.
• Maintain accurate and concise records of all documents including but not limited to SLAs, PFIs, FIs, and GRN.
• Undertake monthly reconciliations of the Non-Donor Grants, working closely with funds management, finance and budget & programming.
• Assess the logistics gaps and needs of humanitarian actors and tailor CO services offering to meet these demands.
• Support the capacity building of WFP staff and partners for efficient and effective delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries (e.g. through the design and review of training materials).
• Identify and build productive relationships with logistics colleagues and staff within the area of assignment to support an integrated approach to food assistance.
• Other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

Advanced University degree in Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Management or other related field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.

Experience:

EXPERIENCE FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE: Minimum three (03) years of postgraduate professional experience in Supply Chain, Logistics or a relevant field.

Experience in analysing operational contexts and trends

Experience in budget monitoring, reporting and project management.

Experience in logistics, such as freight-forwarding, warehouse management, inventory management, goods handling, contracting.

Experience working with clients, managing queries and complaints and building rapport.

Language:

International Professional: Fluency in English language is required. Intermediate knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
