Description
About this role: The Director of Operations serves as the operational connective tissue of LEMG. This role ensures seamless execution across our high-volume pipeline of 180+ annual events. The Director of Operations acts as an organizational integrator. They identify and bridge communication gaps between Sales, Operations, and Finance. This keeps executive leadership out of daily logistical fires. Additionally, this role oversees our extensive network of 100+ independent contractors. They document, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guarantee consistent service delivery
Core Focus Areas:
- Cross-Departmental Integration: Anticipating upcoming communication gaps and aligning workflows between Sales, Operations/Project Management, and Warehouse & Logistics directors.
- Process Guardrails & Documentation: Developing, updating, and auditing our existing company-wide playbooks so all teams follow verified processes.
- Contractor & Labor Ecosystem Management: Overseeing the logistical lifecycle, compliance, and relationship health of LEMG’s 100+ independent contractors and internal tech teams.
- Executive Insulation: Protecting the executive team's time by proactively handling operational friction and presenting structured solutions instead of problems.
Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Cross-Departmental Communication & Alignment
- Identify Communication Gaps: Act as an early-warning system in the event pipeline. Spot missing technical specs, scheduling conflicts, or handoff delays before they impact execution.
- Peer-to-Peer Accountability: Work in tandem with Director-level employees to keep teams aligned with cross-departmental workflows without exercising top-down direct management.
- Meeting Facilitation & Ownership:
- Weekly Production Meeting: Facilitate the weekly pipeline review to ensure proactive communication across Sales, Project Management, and Warehouse & Logistics.
- Pipeline Updates: Communicate show confirmations to all staff and cancellations to Director-level employees cleanly and efficiently.
2. Process Documentation, Auditing & Systems
- SOP Ownership (MBS): Partner with front-line employees and directors to thoroughly document, update, and manage submissions for the Master Business System (MBS).
- Accountability Frameworks: Monitor team adherence to documented processes. Use the MBS playbooks as a neutral benchmark to resolve operational deviations.
- Post-Event De-briefs: Standardize and oversee post-event reviews to ensure repeating communication breakdowns are identified and permanently engineered out of the system.
- Systems Training: Assist with IntelliEvent projects, implementation, and team training as required.
3. Workforce & Labor Ecosystem Management
- Contractor Roster Oversight: Oversee the onboarding, vetting, contracting, and performance tracking of our 100+ freelance labor network, collaborating with the PM team.
- Staff Technicians: Oversee internal, on-staff AV technicians and manage their long-term professional development.
- Compliance Safeguards: Implement strict documentation workflows to ensure contractor relationships stay legally compliant with current federal and regional labor guidelines.
4. Additional Strategic Support
- Special Projects: Provide high-level operational support on cross-functional Finance, Sales, and Marketing initiatives as requested by the executive team.
- Brand Assets: Oversee LEMG's social media accounts and basic website updates to ensure brand consistency.
