Job Details
This position is based in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Research Unit and focuses on advancing clinical and translational research to improve maternal and women's health outcomes. Under the mentorship of Dr. Rupsa Boelig, Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Research Unit, the fellow will contribute to a broad portfolio of research studies addressing pregnancy complications, including preeclampsia, chronic hypertension, gestational hypertension, maternal morbidity, and other obstetric and gynecologic conditions. A multidisciplinary mentorship team will support the fellow's professional development and research training.Job Description
The fellowship is designed to prepare early-career investigators for successful academic and clinical research careers in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Fellows will receive comprehensive training in clinical research methodology, study coordination, regulatory compliance, data management, and scientific dissemination while participating in a variety of ongoing maternal health and women's health research projects.
Current research activities include prospective observational studies, clinical trials, pregnancy registries, secondary analyses of electronic health record data, and quality improvement initiatives focused on optimizing maternal and neonatal outcomes. Research areas may include hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (including preeclampsia, chronic hypertension, and gestational hypertension), maternal-fetal medicine, obstetric outcomes, gynecologic health, and other departmental research priorities.
The fellow will have an active role in all phases of the research process, including:
• Assisting with study design and protocol development.
• Preparing and maintaining IRB submissions and regulatory documentation.
• Screening and enrolling research participants.
• Collecting clinical information and biological specimens according to study protocols.
• Performing data entry, database management, and quality assurance activities.
• Collaborating with investigators and biostatisticians on data analysis.
• Preparing abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations for scientific meetings.
• Assisting with grant development and research funding applications.
• Leading first-author publications and developing an independent research focus aligned with departmental priorities.
The fellowship is one year in duration, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year based on performance and funding availability.
