OVERVIEW
JOB TITLE: CSA Welcome/Information Desk Student AssistantLOCATION: Center for Student AchievementPAY RATE: $16.50/hrHOURS: Student must be available to work on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 12-4pm.
JOB SUMMARY
The Welcome/Information Desk Student Assistant for the Center for Student Achievement (CSA) will serve in a capacity to support the daily operations of the Center for Student Achievement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Daily Operations of the CSA:
- Create a friendly, people-oriented environment within the CSA.
- Assist in hosting CSA events as needed.
- Update and create new web content for department in OneStThomas.
- Complete data entry tasks in university systems as needed.
- Manage daily operations and administrative tasks within the CSA, including cleaning the CSA space.
- Participate in campus activities in which the CSA needs to be represented.
- Answer questions of customers who approach the desk, providing necessary solutions and direction with a welcoming and professional manner.
- Maintain working knowledge of current and upcoming events happening on campus.
Additionally, you will be expected to:
- Meet regularly and maintain work communication with supervisor in person and via Microsoft Teams.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking students who are pro-active, dependable, organized, and detail-orientated to work during the fall and spring semester.
We prefer students with the following skills:
- Knowledge of St. Thomas resources or a willingness to learn.
- Knowledge and familiarity with technology on campus and helping students navigate this (i.e. printing)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (including proofreading ability).
- Excellent customer service skills.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
