  • Opportunities also include investigating the relationships among diabetes, cardiometabolic health, cognitive aging, and other brain-related outcomes.
  • Fellows will work with national and international teams to develop research questions, write grants and manuscripts, design studies, and conduct rigorous analyses of complex data from population-based cohorts and surveillance studies, electronic health records, large surveys, and clinical and community-based intervention trials.
  • Available data span multiple dimensions, including imaging, cognitive assessments, biomarkers, genomics, wearable and sensor data, and other digital health data streams.
  • Research responsibilities may include developing statistical analysis plans, harmonizing data across studies and cohorts, and applying state-of-the-art epidemiologic, statistical, and computational methods to longitudinal and high-dimensional data.
  • Depending on their interests and expertise, Fellows may apply AI/ML, deep learning, and other data science approaches and participate in clinical and pragmatic trials and implementation science projects.
  • Additional opportunities include developing study protocols and research proposals, designing data collection tools and digital health studies, mentoring junior researchers, and leading peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations.
  • Fellows will work with faculty including Drs. Venkat Narayan, Allan Levey, Mohammed Ali, Felicia Goldstein, Ram Jagannathan, and Shivani Patel, as well as other investigators across Emory and collaborating institutions.
  • They will also have opportunities to collaborate with experts in AI/ML, population genomics, and computational methods, including Drs. Anant Madabhushi, Yan Sun, and Joyce Ho.
  • The positions offer strong opportunities for mentorship, interdisciplinary collaboration, career development, and independent research.
  • Emory's unique partnerships with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Georgia Institute of Technology, CARE, the Carter Center, the Task Force for Global Health, and research and global health organizations worldwide provide an exceptional environment for interdisciplinary research and training.
